“Mary’s Touch” receives Ecclesiastical Approbation

On July 16, 2007, Cheri Lomonte received word from Monsignor Mulvey, Vicar General of the Diocese of Austin, that, after rigorous review, an ecclesiastical approbation had been conferred on “Mary’s Touch.” In his recommendation, Father Rai, diocesan theologian, wrote,

“Not only do I find no problem with the doctrinal content, but the whole project seems to me a positive and practical commentary on Chapter 8 of Lumen Gentium. It illustrates faith from life, particularly from the experiences of ordinary people. It corroborates what the Council says on Mary’s continuing motherhood…I have been reviewing theological materials for many years now, but this is the first time I have ever been able to come back with an unqualified Yes. I highly recommend Mary’s Touch. I believe it is a work of grace, and more than succeeds in what it sets out to be: inspirational.”

What a blessing this is! We are humbled and so grateful for the many blessings that have been given to us…most especially for this blessing from Bishop Aymond. It has inspired us to rededicate ourselves to the mission of Mary’s Touch: to advance Our Blessed Mother’s “Yes,” to bring a greater understanding of her Son, Jesus, and to remind people of the grace she still brings to this world. Thank you for supporting our work and for listening to “Mary’s Touch!

GEMS

On Sunday, October 7, 2007, GEMS hosted a fundraising event in Dallas, TX benefiting the new GEMS Academy of Gabriel Project.

This program assists unmarried pregnant women and single mothers by providing classes in parenting skills, literacy, education, and career and financial planning. Women are taught to how to become self-sufficient and build self-esteem. GEMS also provides assistance with grooming, makeup, and dressing for success, which helps women develop a greater appreciation of their self-worth and God-given talents and abilities. Additionally, for those contemplating adoption for their children, GEMS provides counseling and assistance. All of these services help women to be better mothers to their children.

We at Mary’s Touch, were pleased to assist the GEMS fundraising efforts by providing assistance between GEMS coordinators and the Emmaus Catholic Church Rosary Ministry. As a result, we were able to send GEMS 180 rosaries that were given as gifts to attendees of the fundraising event.

GEMS is an extension of the Project Gabriel Ministry of the Catholic Pro-Life Committee and the Respect Life Ministry of the Diocese of Dallas, TX.

Mary's Touch Christmas Special

This very special program features five beautiful Christmas stories of Mary’s love and mercy.

Paula’s story shows us that it’s not always easy to see the answer to prayer…even when it appears right at your car window!

Jean tells how her family found themselves in trouble trying to get home after celebrating Christmas in Rome…but Mary, of course, came to their rescue.

Mother Nadine, of the Intercessors of the Lamb, shares her story of a beautiful Christmas gift from Jesus.

Stacey’s daughter died several years ago, and she yearned to adopt a child. On Christmas Eve, she lifted up her prayers…and God gave her an answer.

Jeanette’s guilt over neglecting Christ on Christmas was painful, but Mary brought her a message of mercy.

This very special CD is decorated with art created by Nicole McCarthy, age 14, who submitted her drawing to our Through the Eyes of a Child outreach program. The “Mary’s Touch” Christmas Special is sure to become the first in a series of classic shows, and one you will cherish.

The Healing Touch of Mary to be published in Spanish

In 2008, the Pauline Priests of Bogotá, Columbia will release the Spanish version of The Healing Touch of Mary, by Cheri Lomonte.

The Healing Touch of Mary parallels the format of “Mary’s Touch.” The book includes 59 contemporary, reallife stories from people who have prayed to Mary; surrendering to her needs, their hopes, their fears, and their desires to her when they believed their prayers could be answered only through her miraculous intervention. The Healing Touch of Mary is beautifully illustrated with photographs by Cheri and paintings and icons created by several other artists.

The book was originally published in 2005 by Divine Impressions and is currently available in English from ACTA Publications.
